I remember when the last one struck and all hell was breaking loose. On the news there was a report "We have all the water treatment chemicals, but nobody knows what to do with them, or the hazards". I had been travelling and was bloody skint and also had no current job. I thought "I'll do it" (As I'm qualified to) and got on the phone to Red Cross.

Of course they wanted my £10. They said they only use their own "staff". If they had got me there, I would have done it free of charge. (as the problem had been announced on the news, I assume RC didn't send one rolleyes )

My offer was charity. Their business appears to be a partial hindrance of genuine charity.

I hope the level of fkups last time don't interfere with sorting it out.

I assume this must be a second quake in a day or so.
There was a report that Fiju and surrounding islands were expecting a tsunami, everyone fled to the hills, then the all clear was given.

I do hope they didn't give a false all clear.

I am hearing sketchy reports that there has just been a high magnitude earthquake in Indonesia. Guess it does not pay to live on the Pacific rim!

My brother (Who's diving in Indonesia atm) has just texted to say he's okeek Apparently there have been 6 minor quakes in the past 3 weeks, and this is the first proper one.
