This country needs a Major shake-up - a back to basics approach.

Whilst admittedly on the same subject matter, that is a link to a different article in a different forum tongue out

Meanwhile.........

'However, the pair were reported to Ofsted by someone – thought to be a neighbour – and an investigation was launched. New legislation means that people who baby-sit for more than two hours at a time or on more than 14 days a year should be registered and follow childminder rules, including undertaking first aid training and following the so-called "nappy curriculum" for under-fives'

That's a large part of the problem with this country; st stirring neighbours acting like blockwarts!

The last time the concepts of 'Major' and 'back to basic' were combined, things did not go exactly to plan.

so how does this affect parents when their childrens friends come over to play for a few hours at the weekend and they return the arrangement??

My son regularly has his football teammates over to play and he goes over to their house --- and its for more than a couple of hours at a time!

I wonder how much these investigations cost each year too.

What a great use of resources!

It's governing by numbers, isn't it? "We'll have a law for this, a law for that, a law for everything that can possibly happen, and when we've finished everything will be perfect." Trained monkeys could do the same job as this shower.

I'd say you'll be fine unless you have a busy-body neighbour. Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of them about these days frown

The schools minister, Vernon Coaker, said: "The legislation laid out by the Childcare Act 2006 is in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children. However we need to be sure that the legislation does not penalise hard-working families."

Can you imagine what this country will be like if the worst happens and they get re-elected?
