So now that terrorists have twigged they can get past security by sticking a bomb up their arse how is airport security going to deal with this

These devices sample air and detect vapours given off by explosives.
Usually you stand in an archway for a few seconds until the sampling is complete. Effectively it's like a metal detector arch, but slower.
They'll pick up on skin residual traces if you've been handling explosives.
How they'd cope with internally hidden stuff I have no idea. Maybe it'll be
"Would sir care to fart, or would he prefer the anal probe?"
The sniffer is expensive, will take a long time to implement everywhere and will cause long delays in use.
We could train dogs to sniff arses. Unfortunately Islamic teaching about dogs means the Politically Correct amongst us will insist upon their human rights not to be thus searched.
