Maybe they'll be able to train them to detect PC Fletcher's murderer.

So that's the SAS training their Army.

Now the Police are over there.

What's next? Aberdeen oil exploration experts helping them with their oil supplies maybe?

I would rather have the Libyans on the inside pissing out.

The people are onside, it's only Gadaffi who's a fruit loop.

I can't see why people are getting so wound up about this. After all, post-1945 we rebuilt Germany and Japan, pumped millions into their economy, rescued manufacturers like VW, BMW and Porsche and used a vast amount of our defence budget to prop up their countries infrastructures. How many of the people moaning about this drive German cars? Or watch Japanese TVs?
Maybe there's a set period of time that has to pass before it's "ok".

The guilty parties from Germany and Japan were put on trial. All we've had is the travesty of Megrahi. There has been no cooperation whatsoever in relation to Yvonne Fletcher. That is why our Police should not be training theirs (one of whose main jobs is rounding up those the Gadaffis don't like).

Some people clearly idolise Neville Chamberlain.

If Chamberlain hadn't appeased Hitler for the period of time he did, we wouldn't have had the armaments to win the 'Battle of Britain'.

So you're telling me that all the people responsible for the concentration camps, Japanese forced-labour camps et al were punished? You're not really that naive are you? We didn't maybe let a lot of them go to, for instance, set up the West German inteligence services because it served our interests in the Cold War against the USSR?

As for idolising Chamberlain, by that comment it would seem that you are accusing me of being a fan of appeasement? Nope. Yes this country should have punished the person responsible for the murder of PC Yvonne Fletcher, but I would suggest this would have been easier to do when it happened.

Maybe we wouldn't have needed them in that scenario ^^

Germany were in no position to go to war in 1938.

Here's how it works:

1.) We have run up massive debts due to massive fiscal mis-management by the Winky one.
2.) The Libyans will pay us very well for training their police and army
3.) We therefore train their police and army.

I mean whats the death of a single policewoman got to do with that?.......

Or a jumbo jet full of innocent people?........

Or innocent civilians killed in the name of Republicanism?.......

Lets face it, all of that can be forgotten if it means that a few more chavs can be paid to sit on their arses watching Jeremy Kyle while eating pizza and don't forget who to vote for at the next election, now will you?

Makes me sick.

Whilst I am sure that Winky has sold the Nation's soul to the highest bidder whilst enjoying his Stasi-esque imposition of state control there could be another answer...

Maybe Gadaffi Duck is the only world leader who doesn't actually call Brown a "" to his face.

There's also the small matter of; it wasn't the Libyans that did it, most of the credible evidence(and there isn't much) points to some fairly outre Syrian nutcases. Nutcases who were probably bankrolled by the Iranians in vengence for the airliner shot out the sky by the USS Vincennes.

You also missed the other more important points:

4.) we(well, BAE really) get to sell them lots of lovely arms.
5.) we(well, BP really) get some sweetheart deals on oil and gas licences in Muammar's backyard.
6.) After the shortest interval that propriety(ha!) will allow, the relevant MPs will get lucrative directorships and consultancy jobs from BAE, BP and/or subsiduarys and contractors of same.
7.) Labour get their ugly boats on the news proclaiming peas in our time, or something... realpolitik is as confusing as it is unpalatable(if you have a conscience)
8.) Scots' law gets made to look stupid by a bunch of mendacious spooks in the name of not upsetting that Tefal-looking bloke who ran Syria back then.
9.) That's about it for points...
