McCurry wins Malaysian legal battle

I'm quite surprised by this result. As far as I can see, it is "passing off".
Why else would one shorten "Malaysian Chicken Curry" to McCurry? It's not like the prefix Mc is common in Malaysian culture (as far as I know...which is not very far, admittedly).
By the same token, these big LLCs do throw their weight around in a manner that makes me uncomfortable. Having said that, if I owned a globally recognised brand, I would protect it to the fullest extent possible.
I wonder when "Pizza Hot" in Birmingham will be getting its writ?
