Staff at shops owned by the Dixons Stores Group have been caught insulting customers on a social networking site.

An unofficial group, set up on Facebook for staff of DSG, featured comments from existing and former staff of the electronics retailer.

The comments branded customers "stupid" and recounted unflattering shop floor conversations with them.

In it staff, many of whom used their real name, post comments about encounters with members of the public, many of which heap insults on them. Among many different insults, customers are called "stupid".

One staffer at a store asked if it would be acceptable to use a cattle prod on customers who prove difficult to satisfy.
i know alot of people dont regard the staff at these two places too highly - i guess the feeling is mutual!

Not a huge surprise really. I am sure most people think their customers are muppets as a rule.

Another failure to use technology correctly - if they made the group private this wouldn't have been a problem. I'm sure we all like to moan about people we encounter through work, be they colleagues or customers, but most of us have the sense to keep it private.

A while back another customer was looking at a video editing package for their computer.
On the box it stated as usual, 'Minimum requirements: CD drive'. Anyhow the customer looking a bit puzzled and asked for one of the staff to help.

They came over, asked what the problem was and he said 'I have a DVD drive not a CD will this work'? Well, the staff chap asked another one over and they even opened the package to try and find the answer!

Shockingly the only suggestion they had was to return the item if it did not work under their returns guarantee.

Anyhow, I thought everyone called it pissy world?

How's this news? I worked at dixons/currys when I was a student, and we spent a lot of time slagging of the idiot customers.
But then isn't it the same in ever job ?

and to stick up for curry's stuff they're are some good one's but you've got to remember most of them are useless idiots who know nothing about technology.

It's almost a minimum wage job for full timers, most of whom have had little training on the products.

And this is news how?

I've worked in customer service enviroments for a very long time and quite frequently, customers are muppets.

You cant turn around and say something like that to them, unless of course you fancy looking for another job, but quite frankly in any environment when people deal with (often upset, unreasonable and complainging) members of the public then the staff will of course amuse themselves with stories about the latest idiot.

(Edited to add, everyone's in agreement on this one lol)

(Further edited to add I've been asking for YEARS to be allowed to use a cattle prod on some customers, hell, I've offered to improvise one if neccesary....)

Staff at DSGi stores are retards.

I have yet to meet one who knows anything about the products they sell yet continue to talk st to me. It wouldn't be so bad if they shut their retarded mouths but they don't.

Ok, let me clarify, the staff at all DSGi shops I've been into are retards. That's quite a few.

Some saddo with a facebook account and hundreds of imaginary friends should start a "All DSGi shop floor employees are retards" group.

Oh and one more thing, everyone walking past a DSGi store should point at the staff and laugh. Given the general attitude of the shop floor employees it wouldn't be too long before they came out and stabbed you; so on second thoughts don't do it.

It must be a DSGi employee who is paying £19k for the £7k car.

What are these "fives" they keep talking about?

I tried reading some of that group, but to be honest every single post is written so badly I couldn't be bothered trying to decipher them. A bit like the "advice" you get in store from these numpties.

How the hell has anyone who works in Currys even managed to turn on a PC let along use Facebook? They're all so gruntingly thick that even breathing appears to be a challenge for them.

From my experince trying to buy stuff there anyway.

Id always imagined if the PC World staff called the public thick that the world would end in a poof.

I mean, its like someone dividing by zero.

It boggles the mind
