Thanks for the link, there was definitely more to the story than was originally reported!

That news story sounds like a load of old cobblers to me.

Sounds like Israelis having a dig at Iran and quite a lot of conjecture.

Well, if anyone knows about such things, it's Mossad. They pretty much wrote the book on such operations. Only they do it right.

They have a wonderful sense of humour with their cover stories; a shipload of 4X2’s. hehe

For those of you who don’t remember.

This is quite a beliveable story, depending on which version of the S300 missile was being supplied to the Iranians.

The later versions of it are very advanced and can shoot down even medium and long range ballistic missiles (such as Trident!), not just aircraft and cruise missiles.

No wonder the Israelis were desperate for them not to get hold of it.
If he's right, that would have been a significant change in power.

You just keep on believing that if it makes you feel better.
I suppose the problem is that we (members of public) will never know the truth.

I tell a lie. You know what the truth is when a politician denies something. That's usually proof that the event is true and it's only a matter of time before the politician has to make up some excuse and apologise publicly. eg http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/scotland/...

How do you know when a politician is lying etc etc etc.

“The official version is ridiculous and was given to allow the Kremlin to save face,” said a Russian military source. “I’ve spoken to people close to the investigation and they’ve pretty much confirmed Mossad’s involvement. It’s laughable to believe all this fuss was over a load of timber. I’m not alone in believing that it was carrying weapons to Iran.
I'm sure if you went to a pub in Colchester and asked enough "military sources" you'd find one who is "not alone in believing that flying saucers exist."

On a more practical note, if trying to smuggle missiles from Russia to Iran WTF would you go around that way. Wouldn't you just sail across the Caspian Sea? confused

The Russians reation of sending out so many military units including subs to search for it to me spoke volumes. Much bigger reation than the very real threat of Pirates in the Gulf/Indian ocean.

Smells fishy for sure.
