"....If MP's agree it is the right thing to do in a recession!"

The RIGHT thing to do would be to resign you absolute Feckwit! He, & Labour, and damaging this country more and more each day. They are out of their depth....do not know what they are doing.....and are riding out the storm at a time when we need affirmative action!

We need someone in power who actually has the country's best intentions at heart! This current lot are just waiting out their time while picking up their paychecks.

So according to the article, winky will take a paycut ONLY if the other piggies with their noses in the trough MP's agree with him, there's more chance of me voting for him than there is of him actually taking a paycut!

Cameron has already proposed cutting ministers pay by up to 25% if they win the general election.

Of course he would, the main coin is made after office a la Blair.

You don't actually NEED any cash in that job, when you are elected president they take all your credit cards off you etc.

Exactly, it's yet another meaningless announcement designed more to impress the electorate than achieve anything meaningful.

A bit like the release of this paper by McKinseys that the Labour party would like to stress they are NOT following the advice of (look at us, look how committed we are to the NHS):

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8234841.stm

How many other papers do they ignore the advice of? Are they going to start telling us about all of them? No, and yet this is front page of the papers as they thought they could spin it out to their benefit.

Even after all this time, they still haven't got it have they - they need to do something, not just sit around, thinking up ways to try and convince us gullible mugs that they're 'on the case'.

that, of course, is his sole motivation. It will have been cooked up by Brown and Balls late at night in the office.

I wonder how much they paid those consultants to then ignore them?

Cameron can afford to do the job on a no-wage basis, keeping Cabinet salaries though I would suspect. Bit of a non-starter for Winky, like most of his other politburothink 'ideas'

You and I are sadly wiser than the swing voters who bought Bliar last time. I think you will see the propaganda machine come on boost.

Cue some Tory sleaze, more Tory sleaze, people almost killing the party from the inside. A bit of careful footwork and shazam. Done.

I think it is quite possible from a NL point of view and probable from an idiot public point of view.

I suggest you cut out the chloral hydrate wink

Brown and Labour aren't in the business of running the country, they are in the business of *being seen to be* running the country. Everything is done for appearance and not actual result.

Therefore offering to take a pay cut is being seen to be doing something, even though it is a piss in the ocean.

I heard that comment. He always says the UK are taking the lead in the fight against climate change, so why doesn't he take the lead in lowering his salary?

He'd only make it up in expenses anyway...
