His parents should really be doing a better job of stopping him getting out if he's done it 15 times :S

I shouldnt use trains in case there's a four year old boy on it who hasn't paid for his ticket? I'm normally pretty averse to risk, but I think I'd be ok with that one. If it didn't happen too often.

It seems the silly bh would rather scrape him off the tracks than slap his little legs. And, of course, it'll all be the fault of the railway staff if/when the worst happens. rolleyes

Shouldn't the thread title be "Why people should have parenting lessons"? The train bit is just incidental to the story.

Parenting issues aside, I was just thinking that if they had a car and didnt only use the train the kid might not be quite so train obsessed....

This was on the news in the South East last night.

Personally, if they are that neglectful, I think social services should be involved.

Slap em silly...leave the kid alone he's probably trying to escape the dizzy buggers. Any parent worth the tag would've 'encouraged' the little chap to desist from his outings long before now....
Becoming a parent should only be allowed after you pass a test of competence...after all we need licences to drive, yet to propagate the human race as long as there's male and female sexual organs ready and willing, no other training is required. No wonder the 'ooman' race is devolving so rapidly...far too many 'parents' these days 'know the tune' but no-one has taught them the words....

It's the drunks, CHAV's, football hooligans, and general scum who stop me using the train.

So on the one hand we have the creationists on the rise, then the global warming lies are being believed by many. The private sector has been in recession for 10 years so we only enjoyed a boom based on public sector spending funded by borrowing. knife crime is rife, brussels is run by the terminally insane. But hey wickle Toby tries to get on a train and everyone must try and help cos his parents are morons. furious

Given how thick they must be to be outwitted 15 times by a 4 year old, I am quite glad they don't drive.

It's easy. He probably uses the old "Look it's the Goodyear blimp!" ploy.

Given he has to walk about a mile from his house to the station in Marden, crossing two main roads in the process, he's likely to be a dead good lad at this rate...!

I notice how everyone is going after the parents here. It sounds like it only needs a minute for this kid to be out and shinning over the fence as soon as they aren't looking. If this kid is so obsessed as to be doing this then it could possibly be a sign of something up with the kid possibly having an obsessive disorder of some kind.

Or get good at crossing roads until ten years from now he's taken from his family by social services for planning to cross the world by train at fourteen. biggrin

Why don't the parents walk him down to the station and back themselves, kills two birds with one stone - the bratt gets to see some trains and they all get some exersize as well as being decent parents. Plus later on in life he gets to work on choo choos and they all get free train passes and everyone lives happily ever after!!

With regard to newspaper stories, the name Kirstie is a bit like a Somalian, you never seem to read about a good one.
