New anti social drinking orders
Discussion
Living as we do in Luxurious Weston Super Mare, we see probably more than our fair share of idiots (due to the mass of stag and hen parties) who are incapable of having a few to many without starting a fight/vanadalising someone elses property/etc
This legislation sounded quite good, until you see they will consider letting them off the ban from a certain area/ fine if they attend a course on the dangers of drink
Do the powers that be really think the type of tt that quite happily smashes a glass over someones head or smashes a shop window is going to be effected by this type of course?
Had a conversation with a young lad I worked with sometime ago where he felt it was quite appropriate that 2 friends of his that had
a) assualted a man (GBH)
b)smashed his car windscreen with bricks
had not been sent to jail and had been let off with curfews (via tags that they took great delight in showing off)
Thats what we are dealing with
Long since said the way for things like this is to have them doing real graft for the community (litter picking, graffiti cleaning, etc)
I'd add to this that I quite happily (although rarer these days) go out and get well and truly steaming but yet I somehow manage to avoid commiting criminal damage or assualt, odd that?

Odd isn't it, I seem to manage it a few times a month, I'll arrive home in the early hours of the morning, barely capable of speech and just about capable of moving under my own steam, and I havent glassed anyone, smashed up a bus stop, vandalised a car, pulled a moony, groped a girl, mouthed off at a copper, thrown up or got in a fight.I think I must be doing something wrong.
