And how many people here have recently bought a British made TV?

On the whole, there's usually good reason why companies go to the wall. If you can't compete on price, you have to compete on other aspects, quality, customer service and so on. Do none of that and you won't get far.

I work in electronics manufacturing in the UK, the playing field isn't exactly level, sorry but this has little to do with the product, legislation etc make it vertually impossible to compete on price. with regard to quality, TV's are the most unreliable electonics products with the highest infant mortality.

Once we make nothing at all in this country, then the other countries can put up their prices

I hope all your substances and chemicals are pre-registered with REACH and you have confirmed with your supply chain at least every week as I'm sure you don't have anything better to do irked

I'm about to write a letter to Makro asking for confirmation regarding their washing up liquid in this respect and whilst I'm at it I think I'll ask Mr Sainsbury if his bananas are OK under ITAR rules as I'm worried they may be weapons of mass destruction wobble

OK, exaggerating the point, but only slightly !!

Oh, other countries won't have to raise their prices as the less this country has to offer the more the pound will decline against other currencies anyway, especially if they keep printing more of the stuff to try and prop up house prices / dupe the masses into re-electing labia!
