I subscribe to a news letter from the government which basically highlights new policies etc in my area.

I was a tad alarmed to see that they are going to start charging a rain tax to business and properties that require a large amount of drainage or suffer from holding huge amounts of water(not homeowners).
I guess they want to subsidise all the additional water removal required when flodding happens and give the enviroment agency some extra cash.

Maybe if they stopped allowing developers to build on flood plains would be a good start. Easy money isn't with our lovely weather.

What's next, air tax, sex tax, pick my nose tax?
This is getting silly!!

I may be a bit out of touch here, but has anyone else heard similar for their area?

Would probably help if they bothered cleaning out the drains.....

but as usual, create a problem so they can tax it.
