Dear Fiona,

Amazingly enough I am a member of the that select group of males who don't actually fancy you. But even I can tell you didn't fall out of the Ugly Tree striking each of the branches on the way down.

What did you think they wanted you for? Your brains? roflrofl

Even with the inevitable feminisation of the sodding BBC I think they are unlikely to starting hiring people who will be looked at by an entire nation that could munt competetively.

Be thankful you have a job. Personally the first time you opened your mouth I'd have fired you.

£500K?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

For £500k, I expect someone was regularly rearranging her innards. Ridiculous.

She's more attractive than the average 45 year old.

During a point of exceedingly low self esteem and self-loathing, I've done a lot worse. Beats a jar of liver.

Um, I think Caroline Wyatt disproves this article.

No complaints against Fiona in the looks department - but her mannersims when reading the news are a bit over the top. Did she learn from watching Reggie Bosanquet on News at Ten all those years ago??

Judging by this comment, I think she would fit in pretty well round here hehe

It's only when you read articles like that, that one realises how little these people contribute to society and how much they take out.

Physical attractiveness must be the last place you can choose someone for a job where talent isn't the deciding factor (places tongue in cheek). I recall that one US state was talking about making it illegal to hire on the basis of physical attractiveness if they could just get a proper measure of said construct. I think Ms Bruce is, in the words of Keith Lemon 'bang tidy' but others obviously not so it would always be a toughie to prove.

Just imagine if it became illegal to hire based on looks? We would have swamp donkey pole dancers and fat paunchy chaps doing Calvin Kline Ads.

Generally as a fat middle aged bloke I am torn between wanting to apply to earn £500k a year for being pretty talentless but wearing a low cut frock to host 'Strictly come dancing' (I nearly did) and the fact that having the likes of Holly Willaboobby doing that jobs is the only thing which keeps me watching TV at all.

So who would stil be in their jbs? I reckon Gabby Yorath would be defo because she knows her stuff, but as for most of the presenters, newsreaders and weather boys and girls I think not.

How come this sort of thing never applies to men?

Look at the two on The One Show for example, he's a fat bloke with a round face and a Midlands accent whilst she's a size 10, well proportioned lass with perfect hair and some even say she's attractive.

When was there a good looking fella reading the news? I'm not gey but I think I can recognise a man who ladies will find attractive and I wouldnt put Huw Edwards or Trevor McD in that category.
