A friend of a friends daughter is a professional model. She gave up univercity in order to do modelling. She works maybe one weekend a month, gets paid mostly in cash. (shes not a 'pornstar', shes a clotheshorse)

She recently became pregnant - this was apparantly planned. As shes single and doesnt have a 'proper' job she has been given the choice of three 'council' places. She cant move straight in because they are refitting new kitchen and bathroom for her.

she has been given handouts for just about everything. she is waiting to buy a flash new pram for her baby, shes using extra money she gets as a 'eat healthy' allowance because shes pregnant. Shes using that to buy the pram (£500).

Shes paid virtually nothing in tax as an adult. we have paid for virtually all her expences since she got pregnant as tax payers.

her boyfriend will move in with her after she gives birth. They wont get married as this would lose her substantial allowances. She intends to go back to modeling.

She can earn 2 grand for a single modelling assignment, so why are we paying for her to breed?

I dont even know her name. daughter of a friend of a friend.

I'd be sorely tempted.

ETA,
anyway, its the system that sucks here. shes chosen to abuse it, but the system shouldnt be set up in this way, so that it can so easily be abused.

She wanted a place to live, so got pregnant in order to get one. Whats the alternative?> Living with parents for 10 years saving for a deposit and then 25 years scraping for a mortgage. Why bother when the system will provide for you?

us tax payers are just, like, so flippin stupid.

In your old age you'll need to be looked after.

So immigrants or kids. Pick one.

You don't know her name, and yet you know almost every aspect of her financial situation?

Her kids will be too busy claiming benefits to pay your pension via NI contributions...

Probably from the rant of the friend.

This is England... so it isn't unlikely.

I'm sorry but she is extremely unlikely to earn £2k in cash for a weekend's modeling. Firstly the pay rates for your average model are more like £200 than £2,000 for an assignment and also the work comes through agencies who pay in a conventional way.

Meanwhile if she is able to command those sorts of fees she will be able to work a lot more than one weekend a month. Unless she is incredibly lazy and doesn't mind living in a council house on benefits she would be able to be very wealthy. Of course there may be dodgy corners of the 'modeling' business where £2k in cash can be had for a weekend's work but it's not likely.

The thing is, the council house will be on a horrendous estate. You couldn't pay me to live there.

Shop her all the same, I'm sure you can find out the necessary details.

Claiming benefits, free house, etc whilst earning a decent wage and living with a boyfriend who probably also earns a decent wage. No, no I don't see why he'd want to shop them either.

Post pics, then we'll be able to pass judgement on if she's worthy or not of support wink

I was replying to say that it might not be the most reliable source of information.

Would you shop someone evading taxes?
