Found this lot when I googled Royal expenses.
Lower taxes for everybody, sounds like something PHers would go for. Anyone heard of this lot before?

Sounds a bit 'think of the children' but relating to taxes.

I'm all for tax cuts and so on, but not always the ones that cause some headline "sen sa tion"

Ie, I think MP's should get a pay rise, then get rid of expenses. THAT stealthy culture of raising salary through hidden expenses is what has ruined our economy in so many other ways... ie, council tax rises rife, stealth tax rises rife, but central government/income tax changes almost static etc...

Tax once, pay once, and save money on all the bullst in-between. THAT, imho, is where we can cut taxes and costs, the collection of them!

Yes, I've heard of them.

And support their attempts to reduce the waste of the State.

I think whatever happens with MP salaries, that everything is in the open. The old speaker was a complete stbox to try and deny Freedom of Information act. And I detest any motion to prevent the public from learning how MPs use funds.

Absolutely. In fact, raise the threshold for tax, then impose a flat rate of income tax on all money earned over that threshold, the tax would replace all other taxes including sales taxes, duties and tariffs.
Do the same for business, tax only when a threshold of profit has been reached.

No loopholes, no clever accounting, just a simple way of collecting tax, and a threshold high enough that lower paid workers and small businesses don't lose a large proportion of their income.

Businesses no longer have to calculate taxes on sales and accoutants will no longer be able to distribute funds here, there and everywhere to avoid tax for an individual or business.

I'll leave the ecomonists to work out the rate though.....
