The Argus said:
A man jumped in front of a train early this morning - but survived when the driver braked in time.

The drama unfolded at Durrington railway station in Worthing at about 5.20am.

British Transport Police confirmed a man had jumped on the tracks as the 4.48am Barnham to Brighton train approached.

He was uninjured and taken to custody by police for a mental health assessment.

Passengers on trains in Sussex faced short delays due to the incident.
Well, as the chap was uninjured, perhaps. But when one considers the mental anguish involved to even contemplate doing such a thing, perhaps not.

I read that as, the train was approaching the station as normal to stop to pick up passengers and he jumped on the tracks in front of where it would normally stop. biggrin

I hope he gets locked up. I used to work on the Railways and the drivers who hit these people can also suffer from mental problems.

Bet he feels a right pathetic looser right now, 'cant even kill yourself properly' the little voice inside his head will be saying.

That said the trauma that was avoided is good all round.

Failed in Life......now Failed in Death!

Bet that train driver is kicking himself now. Could of gone for that early retirement with PTS, and huge pension!

Why clear them up?

We have foxes and crows for that job
