None of you likely remember or ever saw this fellow, but he was one who tried to use his position for good when he had the chance. I often disagreed with this man's overall political view but was in awe of his dedication to doing good for his fellow man; nobody can fault a person for that. I will defend that quality in him to the end. His works were for obscure people in faraway places that no longer qualify for what constitutes "news".frown This is just a "well done" for him. Thanks for letting me post for him here.

Sad news, as you said a good man has left us. I hope someone else will assume his mantel and speak for those who have no voice.

My condolences to his family.

Thanks. He could have taken an easy path but chose to help others with very little publicity or recognition.

It's always humbling seeing someone take a job like that with a CV like his, you just know he could have done any number of things at ten times the income he would have been making in a post like that. It's heartening to know there are as many people like him as there are, even if today there is one less.

I know it's cheesy, but it's true. Jobs like that are ones that earn you little recognition or money, but they make an unimaginable difference.

There are lots of nameless, unrecognized individuals who would agree with you, and likely remember his deeds far better than I.

It's nice to be reminded now and again that there are some nice, altruistic people out there.

May his legacy continue.
