Death by dangerous driving...

i remember a few years ago there was some loophole when death was caused by dangerous driving and the govt said they were going to ensure that it would be closed and the sentances for the offence would would be extended than the current guidelines allow

did they ever get around to doing that? if so why are people who do get charged with such things only get sentanced for 3 years?

I thought they had changed the law, and peeps can now be done for death by careless.

Personally, i'm wary of imprisoning people who have made a mistake. For me, intent would need to be shown.
