What I don't get about this is that it is not actually some Muslim(s) complaining, it is the club themselves who have asked a Muslim 'expert' if the lyrics are offensive. Why bother, it is just a song FFS.
I think that angry Muslims bombarded the club with emails after which the club management went to the Muslim expert to get an opinion.Jimbeaux said:

The club has received hundreds of e-mails from angry Muslims recently, since Turkish media carried reports about the song.

As far as I understand it states that Mohammad knew nothing about football (not an insult, just a fact) but that he liked the colours of that football team. Where's the insult?
There is no isult, the words are factual. It's just the unfortunate climate where so many try and take advantage of the PC world we now live in. I'm just waiting for the clainm for 'compensation' to start Germany has done so much for the Turkish people over the years. They have a great standard of living in Germany compared to what they would have had if they had stayed in Turkey. Hopefully it's only a minority who are kicking up a fuss but it makes my blood boil when people start to throw rocks at the people who gave them such opportunities for their lives and families.
Getting pretty fed up of this sort of thing, between teddy bears and cartoons and now this. I'm sure most Muslims couldn't care less about this stuff and its the few extreme Muslims that are causing this unecessary fuss.
The thing is this type of action eventually leads to a widespread view that all Muslims think like this and breeds hatred and contempt.
I'm an Irish Catholic and I think I can safely say that we have been the butt of many jokes, or cartoons over the years. However not once have I complained about the use of the word 'Paddy' or piss-taking at the expense of the Irish, because no-one takes is seriously, its only a bit of humour and if anyone was to dispense these types of insults in a serious manner then they would be seen as the biggoted idiots they clearly are.
Its getting to a point where non-muslim people are afraid to talk about muslims in case they are seen as racist. This is a situation I'm sure no-one, least of all the muslim community wants to see. It splits society in two, when what we should all be working towards is further integration and tolerance for one anothers beliefs/views.

Agreed. That is the same reason why a minority of Christian extremists give the other 99% a bad name. The thing is this type of action eventually leads to a widespread view that all Muslims think like this and breeds hatred and contempt.
