The plans could see some sickness and unemployment benefits contracted out to the private sector, reducing the burden on taxpayers.

A possible compulsory welfare insurance... I presume they would be scrapping NI if this ever came about!

What, the work-shy layabouts having to pay insurance before they get benefits? Brilliant, although many don't pay any type of insurance at all for car or house contents, not unless they are planning a fiddle of course. That will be interesting if it happens, less dependency on others, less opportunity to say "you have to support us because......" they get back what they pay in via the insurance company contracted rates. Rather like a pension plan I suppose.

No No NO NO

You have the wrong idea

For the under class they can leave education and go straight on the sick where as those stupid enough to work will no longer be allowed to claim benefits if they have ever worked
