In many ways I'm surprised they actually stuck a memorial there in the first place, and whilst the 'war on terror' is still ongoing - at worst it would become a focus for pro-Jihadist movements or individuals.
Mustn't incite the delicate little flowers by errecting a memorial, must weMuntu said:

Several Muslims died in the bombings, and I don't mean the ones that blew themselves up, I mean innocent people who were commuting with everyone else.If you want to wait for the war on terror to end before putting up a memorial then it'll be a bloody long wait.
Plus there is no evidence that it was a pro-Jihadist that wrote on there. Could quite easily be some white kid who did it on a dare, or who doesn't give a damn about those that died.
A couple of words in black marker pen, and the words unrevealed - which may or may not be offensive, unplesant or vicious, or not.
Take a couple of wipes with a wd-40 dampened cloth to remove it in a few seconds, surely. Hardly vandalism, which usually involves mindless destruction. I get the feeling this news story is rather hyped.

"The pillar that was defaced bore the inscription "Kings Cross - 08.50 - 7th July 2005". "
At least it wasn't some chav scum writing 'Danine heart Keith'. Still, if it was someone that was outraged at the attacks, or maybe even knew someone that was killed or injured, why write it on the post? Just leave it as it is, the memorial is very fitting.
