Not really, one day he will be King and chosen barristers will become the King's Counsel (KCs) so it's all relevant as part of the Crown Court.

It was also given to him by the Barristers of the Middle Temple in London who would be the ones who might feel devalued. Not some liberal Polytechnic or University.

Also it sounds just like the title of honorary Barrister, not a Law degree.

you wouldn't, and I don't....but you get the gist. I had other friends that went on to do the BVC and I think it cost them circa 13K

It does not make him a barrister but an 'honorary' Barrister. He can't I would have thought practice.

ETA As a barrister that is, probably not so much as King.
