Prison consultant? That is a good one. Apparently, his sentence disallows the more plush federal prisons:

How will he judge it? By the quality of the bar of soap on the floor of the shower block perhaps

I'm suprised he didn't do a runner?

No way would I want to serve a 150 year sentence at aged 70 after a life of luxury.

Yes, for someone so mobile with banks everywhere, and an World Class ability to sell bull st to the foolish, you really think he'd have had an escape route. Seems he was so wrapped up in it he believed his own bks.

Life of luxury for maybe 10 years in jail, pretty good deal.

I have to say, I like this line..

He could be forced to mingle with murderers, rapists, drug-dealers and white supremacist gangs with a hatred of Jews. Madoff is Jewish.

The way its written, and then the little comment on the end hehe

its doesnt take a genius to work a pyramind scheme, he had two things on his mind getting caught and how much money he was getting....a proper example should have been made of this freak to deter the rest of them...

150 years in jail isn't an example?

150 years in Gitmo, maybe? (keep it open just for him).

Perception has it that Gitmo is bad. Have you ever looked past the media and seen how accomodating (as prisons go) Gitmo was? Supermax or another proper prison would have anybody there begging for Gitmo. The media can make the masses believe anything. smile

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has accused the U.S. military of using tactics "tantamount to torture" on prisoners at the U.S. Navy base in Guantanamo Bay.

At his age he'll possibly only serve 10....doing 10 years for a life of luxury doesn't seem too bad...

Really? The International Association of Effective Government proclaims Gordon Brown as one of today's most effective leaders.

Not at all. He is destined to die behind bars. As far as I'm aware there is no possibility of some kind of early release. His sentence length also excludes him from the 'cushy' open prisons people are usually sent to for white collar crime, too.

True. His sentence excludes him from the minimum security pens that most first time non-violent offenders go to.

I'm sorry,I obviously didn't get my point across..I meant that at 71 he's not really got a huge amount of time left..if you could live a life where you could do/go/buy anything you wanted so long as you had to give up your last 10-15 years,or any time you had left after 71 ,would you..?

That is exactly how i look at it. This guy has lived the high life with billions at his disposal to fund a life that most of us cannot even comprehend. What he did was obviously disgraceful but do you really think he will be that bothered about being caught and jailed at 71! If he was 20 years younger i feel it would be a punishment, at 71 he can spend a few years mulling over the fantastic life he has been able to have at others expense, dont think he will care once he has fully accepted his punishment.
