It's grim up north

I live in Tyne and Wear and it was overcast and warm last night with thunder and lighting but not a drop of rain fell.
I'm sat in the garden now basking in the sun and it's about 25.
Was chucking it down in C-L-S, Durham and Consett at times yesterday, never for long though and still nice and warm. Thunderstorms in summer are great anyway I'm sat in the garden now basking in the sun and it's about 25.
Beautiful today, might even knock work on the head this afternoon and hit the beach. Saudi Shields indeed

We're waiting for you to be washed away on your deckchair...I'm sat in the garden now basking in the sun and it's about 25c.

When I came back up north on Sunday, I had to drive through about a foot and a half on water, which had flooded the road into our town. Thank goodness for 4x4s - which incidentally was probably what the chap in the mondeo with the hydrolocked engine was thinking as he was chatting to the police officer who'd come to tow him out in his 4x4.

I knocked work on the head this morning.
Meeting a few of the lads and going on a bit of a pub crawl, starting at 12.30pm in Gosforth, then off to Jesmond, on the look out for scantily clad Doris's!! Ha Ha Ha!
Enjoy Shields, I have a feeling it will be very, very busy

Christ, us northerners will have a reputation for being slackers at this rate
Work has all but ground to a halt and I'm wondering if a bottle of corona at 11:15 is wrong.
Enjoy the session
Get it drunk! I cracked open a bottle of King Cobra as soon as it turned 11am. We can't be slackers if we wait until after 11am for the first drink of the day!!! Work has all but ground to a halt and I'm wondering if a bottle of corona at 11:15 is wrong.
Enjoy the session

Was just starting to spit with rain as I left Gosforth at 3pm. By the time I came off the A1 past the angel, I couldn't see the road in front of me...completely underwater. I've only ever seen rain fall that heavily once before and that was in Greece.
There was a fire engine that came heading along the A194, blues and twos, whole outside lane to itself and it would still only do 35mph.
Got back to South Shields and the whole town seemed to be out of power. Petrol stations and car dealerships in the dark and shopkeepers standing round in the doorways of their shops looking lost. My power was on, but it had been off at some point.
