What unpopular prospects are being shelved before the election?

ID cards
No cut in public spending
Post Office sell off

Keep up at the back; they already did that one.

When they say it's "Not the time" that means it will go ahead AFTER the election................ (well, assuming they were in power)

so glad that the pay driving has been binned, they finally understood that putting it thru might mean no-one votes for them smile

Which makes it different from their other 'u-turns' precisely how?

I believe with the no ID Cards they said it will "Never" be made compulsory. Of course, they could well be not quite telling the truth, after all, they are politicians.

Quite frankly, if you believe that, even for a nano-second, I have this bridge you might be interested in...

When they say that any unpopular measure has been scrapped read 'suspended this side of the General Election'.

Seems like Broon is trying to fool all of the people.........

Quite. This is just the same old spin. The card might not be made compulsory, but you will still have to go on the NIR database if you apply for a passport, or whatever else they choose.

The only real change is that they've backed away from a fight with the airline pilot's union. Funny how they're suddenly dancing to the union's tune isn't it, over the post office as well. It's almost as if some sort of faustian deal has been done with them to save the Labour part from bankrupcy, or something.

Oh.

The card may not be made compulsory but what about when they say that to buy pertol/diesel etc you have to provide one....? They'll be all but compulsory to actually live your life...

Did anyone see the news last night?
Winky was on a train being interviewed, and doing 'that smile' again.
