1 The tax paid to the BBC is optional as there is no law saying you must have a TV
2 the BBC are elected
and the biggy
3 The BBC aren't standing there saying how high and mighty they are and we should live our lifes as they tell us
So i really couldn't bloody care
Oh and amounts are peanuts

1) dont agree with it being optional as i think has been said before you dont have to buy a car, but if you do you dont expect to have to pay a charge to ford whether you buy a ford or not. am sure theres better analagies but u get my point
2)how are they elected i dont remember voting?
3) true but their news was falling over itself to make a big deal out of the mps expenses.
those expenses dont cover travel etc nor the amount spent on the stars then it will get interesting - does include things like £1,100 spent on meal to celerbrate wogans knighthood etc.

The expenses have been released by the BBC themselves without a public enquiry or demand, perhaps in a response to the MPs expenses as a "this is how it should be done" kind of way. (Odd crazy expense excluded).
eer actually it was in response to a freedom of info act request..loltolhurst said:

its funny that the bbc nonnews is putting the question to themselves are these bbc expenses reasonable for 30 seconds then their back on the £20 duck house story for 5 minutes...
you have nonjobs but this is a noncompany....it adds no value to peoples life its only purpose is to enrich a chosen few.. if it were privatised it would have no interest in forwarding governments views....
they have no quarms with the current government and its policies, to the number of unelected ministers, to the printing of money to bail out failed banks, to the level of state borrowing, the idea that unaffordable shelter is a good thing and the unsustainable waste of natural resources...they are the labour party broadcasting channel, state tv...

Really, so you've obviously never watched Question Time, or Newsnight, or listened to Any Answers, or PM, or Drive, The Today Programme? Because all of those can be scathingly critical of our government.Edited by Mclovin on Thursday 25th June 19:16
i've yet to read a single BBC expense that i could give a toss about...all seem fine to me. prob with the UK right now is that lots of normal people are broke and rather than working harder they would rather have a dig at those that arent....it kick off with bankers (who the public couldnt touch) so they rounded on the MP's...now they are going after the BBC because they brought Brucie a £100 bottle of wine!
No doubt there will be plenty of plebs vox poped in the street to express outrage that "i dont get to have £2000 to fly my family home when work gets in the way"...no, you dont...because you work at kwik fit you retard.

Expenses are not the real issue .. the salaries above are obscene, even compared to the private sector (where there is at least the argument you can pay what you want). No doubt there will be plenty of plebs vox poped in the street to express outrage that "i dont get to have £2000 to fly my family home when work gets in the way"...no, you dont...because you work at kwik fit you retard.

I couldn't understand this during the interview with the BBC bloke this morning. They seemed obsessed with him cutting his family holiday short. Was this a business reason that he had to cut it short? If so then I really can't see what the problem was - surely that's exactly what company expenses are for?! Unfortunately I missed the reason for which it was cut short.

Was this the bloke who had to cut his holiday short due to Ross and the Trampy looking fella giving Manuel a call one night? If so, I can't see a problem with him claiming expenses for that.
