MP's Expenses - Plod involved

I thought this deserved a thread all of it's own.

So let's keep the good news coming. Scotland Yard are now involved in some MP, and Lords, expenses claims. WHether it goes further or whether this is simply a smoke screen to placate the masses, time will tell.

I think the original Police statement that there is no realistic prospect of prosecutions will prove accurate.

There is a big political advantage to holding a Police investigation. Politicians will now be able to decline to answer questions about their expenses because it’s Sub Judice.

At best you will get the odd sacrifice of someone who the government wanted rid of, just to add credibility to the investigation.

Don't make this just a Labour pig roast - MPs from all parties have acted like complete idiots here and frankly deserve the bad PR they are getting.

Turns out he's been paying his daughter as well, though she went under an assumed name.
