I am fairly convinced Harriet Harman will try to introduce a tax on spunk.

There'll be a section on the self-assessment form for volume produced. rolleyes

hmmm. Gotta love the cheek of the bds though:

Government doesn't know how much this pointless scheme will cost; analysts using (no doubt) the Monte Carlo Simulation model with 400 computers accurately predict (that's 60% or very likely in IPCC speak) that it will cost between 750 million quid and 6bn quid. rofl

And there we have yet another tax promulgated on the back of MMGWT. Nice one. furious

ps. Just you wait for HIPS to kick in properly; tax on home lemonade bubble emissions. banghead

Well, how exactly is Gambler Brown to pay for the debt he's run up for us? Our children and our children's children will blame us for this debt and the huge taxes they will suffer in the future.

It should be taxed the same as petrol.

That way, people will soon stop caring about the CO2 bks and decide it's not so bad after all.

Next they'll have a tax on any savings you make, say if you get a discount on something you buy or 2 for 1 at the supermarket. They'd probably have to help themselves straight out of your bank account for it..... oh wait....

How about the DIY tax: if you do the job you deprive an artisan of his income for doing it - and the tax he would have paid on that money, so they come to you for the loss...

...believe Sweden tried this

I'm a little confused here.

BP were going to do that sort of thing anway, with their own money assuming the governemnt would give them a grant towards the project. The goverenmnt said no and BP dropped the plan.

Now it seems the government are tendering out an entire very similar project so not only will they pay the full amount but BP (or whoever wins) will probably even profit out of the deal.

Financial prudence my arse. Trump or buffet probably crap more business sense each morning that these idiots have combined.

they alread have half of whatever interest you get anyway on your savings so why not tax real world savings say at a penal rate of maybe 85%.?
Called inflation. Inflation higher than interest rates. Just remember that he owns half of the banks too... It's the only way to sort out the housing market though....

how about taxing you to park on your own drive? thats a good one.

taxing you for using your washing machine? another good one.
1. Council tax takes into account the desirability of your property, and its value. A driveway could easy be considered a desirable thing, and it most certainly adds to the value of the property.

2. Washing machine, you already covered it in the purchase of the machine and its operation when using both water, electricity and consumables such as washing powder.

HTH wink

How about... a debt tax? A tax on money you borrow. So, say you want to borrow £10k, you immediately pay £1000 to HMRC.

The article says, "If all emissions reduction schemes add 2pc to bills, we are talking about electricity costs being hugely higher."

2pc being hugely higher! What planet is this guy on? Petrol prices seem to be doing that week by week.

It takes about 25% of the power stations output to achieve. Or, if you prefer, another 25% of non-renewable coal.

Peak oil. Get serious about and do something about.

Plant food gas hysteria? This has got to stop. We are meant to be conserving fuels, not wasting them on burying harmless plant food gas.

This is the single most crazyest st I have ever heard. Having said, it is a very good industry to be in right now. Making money off the back of political driven lies.

Gees, give them ideas why not?? I can well imagine someone coming up with that idea to prevent another recession like this in the future.

O/T - but thank god they haven't got the time or the ability to pass anything like this in their remaining time. With so many Labour MPs about to lose their jobs, the last 11 months could have a degree of sanity about them as no one will support anything remotely unpopular.

And it's horrifically expensive. Spent a lot of time year before last talking a very large oil company out of pursuing it in Abu Dhabi.

Why don't they spend less money..............which would mean less tax.

A high tax society is a dead one it erodes motivation and leads to a brain drain which is quite obvious from the almost daily turds coming out from Government.
