theoretically smile

Dont want this to turn into another, is it / isn't it discussion, lets presume it's all over, every corner we turn their is someone else smiling with their new good fortune......

After abstaining from treating ourselves for what could be quite a while, what is the first thing you are going to treat yourself too?

Something big? Boat, Car, Holiday, motorbike, jewelry, extend the house, new house.......

Something small? bits for your car, track day, week end break, new bathroom, garden gear........

for me? I think it will be a nice holiday, though the sensible side of me says 2 weeks & all that I am left with is memories & a fading tan, maybe a different car then, maybe a classic with little depreciation, i might be more comfortable with this having just been through the financial starvation, still undecided really.

Maybe you wouldn't treat yourself at all now your used to the streamlining, maybe you haven't stopped treating yourself biggrin

What would you do?????

Holiday I think. Nothing too extravagant just a week in the sun relaxing.

I can't say I really stopped treating myself TBH, but I've always been one for saving over wreckless spending on luxuries in all fairness.

If anything I might have cut down on how often we go out to eat from once a week to twice a month in the last year or so, but I'd hardly say I have gone without. Infact I'm off on my second foreign holiday of the year on Sunday.

I think the biggest thing would being instilled with enough confidence to stop worrying about money so much and actually use some of my savings to treat myself to a new car.

You would give your Butlers and Maids Brioche?

In fairness, mine have survived quite well off grass and tap water for the last six months.

SRT8 Jeep

Oh yes it will be mine :}
I wanted one of these a while back. Was tempted to buy one new about 2 years ago at £37K, but held back as i heard that there would be a more powerful version in the pipeline, so we went for the 3.0 CRD for the time being. Good thing i did hold off on the SRT8 as they are now around the £16K to £20K and to be honest not that well built. From experience with the CRD, the inside is tacky plastic and everywhere, horrible seats as i was sliding around, bouncing all over the place if you pushed it (granted the SRT8 does have stiffer suspensions). Anyhow long story short, we swapped the Jeep in for a Porsche Cayenne S and havn't looked back, you can see where your money goes.
Just a heads up, but they do sound good.

You can bet your bottom dollar that the day that the end of the recession is offically announced, the usual suspects will be back making the same mistakes and living lifestyles they can't sustain without credit....
