This was on the news tonight, are we supposed to believe this one week old pup was outside playing in the garden? The kid is a lying little toe rag and the RSPCA should get in there.

I blame the parents.

I saw it on telly earlier.

Their toilet had a dirty big skid mark shooting down the pan.

They should be ashamed of themselves.

Well, it went one better than the Andrex puppy - going down with the ship.

I saw that..

What was a one week pup doing in the garden? Why was the kid left unattended long enough to flush it down the toilet? How is that a cocker spaniel confused

Why is the dog back with that family?

They shouldn't be allow to own a dog after an incident like that, and should probably have some questions asked about how they conduct themselves around their children!

The child is 4 years old! hardly understanding of what he is doing/the implications of certain actions.

Poppycock!
How many 4 yo kids do you know, associate the bog with a suitable place to have a bath?
Stop being so darn generous that it's benign behaviour, it's definitely not!

Or just dangle him by his ankles in the bowl while someone repeatedly flushes it. After about 5 minutes he'll probably be in tears and get the idea of the exercise.

Ok.

When I was about that age I flushed my guinea pig down the bog.

I had seen Wind in the Willows and thought he'd enjoy a swim.

I put him in the bowl and he didn't look like he was having fun so I flushed it to make it more fun.

I meant no malice and was absolutely devastated when he disappeared and never came back.

That is simultaneously the funniest and most affecting thing I've read all week.

well give it a few more years and there will be some incident involving loss of life....come on at 4 years he should be able to talk and have some idea of right or wrong....those events that happen whilst young are most powerful to the psyche...his consciousness has been imprinted in earlier life to make him think that carrying out such an immoral action was okay, so left unchecked i reckon it will develop....

Why was the kid allowed to remove at least one of the pups from its mother? What would have happened if the female dog had bit the kid?

What possessed them to go to the media with the story?
