Scotland wants power to
Discussion
It already does regulate it's own air guns? Try buying an air rifle in Scotland.
Speed limit thing will never happen though. It's just more political hot air methinks. Although in fairness the lunatics are running the asylum up here.
Remember when Salmon said that "We can always depend on the strong financial sector and the high price of oil"?- Oh how we laughed.

He's a dick of the highest order.Friends of mine working at the Govt despair at the SNP being in power. Apparently it's like David Brent, Trigger and Pinky and Perky have taken over. Clueless isn't the word.
ETA mind you, the civil servants themselves aren't much better.

On a serious note though, what did Labia ever do For Scotland other than 'fine' its Uni students £2k for daring to graduate and become successful.
Probably not a great deal, but if nothing else they didn't waste money on being seen to do things differently to Westminster just to make the completely infantile point that they are not Westminster. On a serious note though, what did Labia ever do For Scotland other than 'fine' its Uni students £2k for daring to graduate and become successful.
They're local councillors elevated to being politicians with real power and quite frankly it's scary that it can happen.

That pissed me off no end. My Mrs got stung for that.Fortunately being of Welsh denomination I not only didn't have to pay the fine but was given a £1500 grant. I found it incredibly condescending but, of course, took it and spent the money on an MX5.
Nothing better than running grant maintained vehicle. The Mrs wasn't happy though. Oh happy days.
In my humble view, the SNP gaining power in Scotland was managed in much the same way as the BNP are attempting to gain credibility and power in England; by weaving lies with truths and riding on popular opinion/urban myths doing the rounds amongst the masses eg: North Sea Oil, Scottish taxes being absorbed by Westminster etc.
The BNP managed the same effect, but rather more thinly veiled, by perpetuating such opinions as Polish people 'stealing' British jobs etc. A topic which resonates with the 'Working Man', then using it to their own advantage.
The SNP have managed to convince a great deal of Scottish people that they would do a better job devolved from the rest of Britain; as a Scotsman (living in England) I can't think of anything worse that could happen. Devolution is not in the interests of the Scottish people, rather the tts in power. These proposals of greater control over taxes and speed limits is just a stealthier way of gradual devolution.
Bloody SNP!

On an airgun forum they are saying Scotland is being used as a testing ground, so if succesful the laws will be used over here (ie England) soon after.
Yep, like the poll tax, but we couldn't even blame that on a Scottish parliament.Of course what the should do is allow all law abiding people to own handguns to protect themselves and their property, but they won't.

I heard from a mate who's a civil servant down south that Gordie won't even take calls from him and often proclaims what a tossbag he is.
And this from the man who sold the U.K. gold reserves when the price was rock bottom, a few months before the gold price took of like a North Korean rocket!G
