Policy Ideas for Brown.
Discussion
God help us all.
The Guardian suggests policy ideas for Gordon Brown;

So which one doesn't depend on squandering vast sums of public money then?
My particular favourite is 'abolish NHS waiting times'. Mainly because they've already tried doing that by actually increasing the number of interim consultations you have for any given thing, and consequently reducing the waiting time length. No consideration given to the fact the NHS is completely broke either.
As a higher rate tax payer I have a horrible feeling of a return to the days of 98% higher rate tax band.
ETA: This comment is particularly priceless in the NHS suggestion;

We could make health insurance mandatory and only treat the poor. That way all the middle class leeches would be forced to pay their way.

I was under the impression the 'middle classes' more than any group, paid for everything in the uk anyway.. Someone I'd never tire of kicking in the face, no doubt.
I'd love to know what contribution that Guardian reading has made in his life.
