surprised theres not a thread on this already. Shocking news if this is true this really is a step too far. I can sort of understand mi5/6 using extreme measures on terrorists but for police to do it is just obscene.

I was going to post about it but then watching the news decided against it,its not waterboarding to start with its allegedly holding suspects heads under water to make them speak.Still torture but if the press can't even get their facts correct on the headline what hope have they for the actual story.

It's only a few druggies. So what's the problem?

Well, I'll be damned. They're using goldfish interrogators.

At least it was another policeman who reported it.

They were drug smugglers. Caught smuggling Cannabis. And it was another Police Officer that reported it.

The problem is that the only reason the police and the criminal justice system are able to sit in judgement over criminals, is that they hold themselves to a higher standard than the very villains they arrest and pass sentence on.

maybe that officer that reported it had an axe to burn, all we know is what the press say...

Anything to do with sticking heads in water needs to use the emotive and controversial word of 'waterboarding' to 1. establish that the act IS torture and 2. Sell newspapers. 3. Create a broo-ha-ha amongst the hysterical public.

Of course they shouldn't stick scrotes heads in water to make them 'fess up, hanging by the ankles over a quarry edge is far more effective.

I say let the facts decide what happened but let's not get too worked up yet...

Anyone else thinking...

I've said it before. People moan about wanting the good old days of policing and this is what it breeds.

Never lower yourself to the conduct of criminals it is that conduct that has left the police service in the state it is today. The police are far less corrupt than ever and yet this story will be far more damaging than it would have been twenty years ago.

At the moment however I'd wait for a lot more actual information to come out before passing judgement.
