scratchchin Hmmm, a discredited leader, with no public mandate, desperately hanging onto power against public opinion, whilst the country goes to the dogs around him......

We've seen this before methinks.......

...Mugabe looks good for his age though, and is one hell of a snappy dresser.

Swap the colours for a bit of red, white & blue and I'd even vote for him if he wore it! hehe

Ok, I'd never vote for him, but it'd be fun to see.....

And just like Mugabe, Brown is looking to rig the next election with a new voting system - no doubt the referendum before that will be an expensive affair. At least with Mugabe you know the fecker's going to die some day reasonalby soon, he's over 80 ffs, our one-eyed zombie Brown will just keep going on and on.

Quite. And despite the jovial nature of this thread that is the really worrying thing.

After the results of the last week he could have come out and said; root & branch examination of the party, inquiry into expenses, public forums to listen to the publio all the usual BS.

Instead his first priority is to investigate electoral reform because now I've made sure my own party can't get rid of me, I need to make sure that the public can't either.

For all the joke comparisons this deeply, deeply concerning. I'm not a political animal, maybe slightly to the right but liberal on some stuff. But to me, it doesn't matter what side of the fence you sit on we need to get rid of this man, right now. The far reaching consquences of what could happen in the next year do not bear thinking about.

To be honest, I don't know why people are getting their knickers in a twist; the whole nature of combatative binary politics is something that needs looking at rather than just picking on the latest incumbant and voting in the BNP in protest.

Broon is a liability that's for sure, but don't forget it's Labour policies generally that have bu55ered up our economy and quality of life generally. Don't let it be all about personalities, Labour will try that trick no doubt should Broon depart, they'll then claim to be a "fresh new party".

Maybe not when he took over the Party....

But at least he was elected to lead the country by the people.

And a lot of those that didn't had a "motoring accident " or finished their bus journey behind a tree .Then there was the "no party card ,no house " idea. And come election time the youth brigade did his campaigning for him .And it was strange how those that tried to remove him by force became "dissidents".After all how did his party get to power .

All seen (and more) in the 80's living in the bush in Southern Rhodesia ( and if I'd said that in open then -I'd have disappeared quickly).

To quote the words of a character in a sit com ,Brown is "doomed ,doomed ,Ah tell ye -DOOMED"-at least Magabe knows when to call it a day .
