It seems she refused to pledge loyalty to Winky and then resigned.

She was expected to go. Looks like the rebellion is petering out. Shame for the country but probably good for the tories. Last chance lies with the backbenchers. Welsh and Scots Labour MP's should be worried for their seats after last night.

It means he intends to hang on regardless of the cost to the country to his PM job.

In some respects I think that shows what a selfish, deluded and stalinistic individual we are dealing with. I think that will cement the fact that the Tories will get in by a landslide at the GE (June 2010) but I fear we may have a scorched earth policy in place before then.

I get the impression he is not the only selfish one - look at Caroline Flint - On Thursday night pledging support for Winky - didn't get a promotion so resigns and slates him - She is a prime example of a potitician that is only in it for herself, which in my opinion sums the entire Labour Party.

I am surprised the press didn't make a bigger deal out of this.

There are alot of people baying for blood, but what would Brown's resignation, actually achieve?

Not a lot I dont think. Its likely he will go at the next election anyway, why throw Parliament into further chaos by removing him?

Once he's gone, there will noone left to blame, just another idiot with a fresh set of excuses who uses the word "clearly" a lot.

He could end up doing a very good impression of him. Something I notice when a Labour MP is asked a question about McBroon is that they always refer to him as Gordon. I don't recall anyone referring to his predecessor as Tony, it was always 'Prime Minister.' He hasn't just lost the respect of his own party, he didn't have it to start with.

It would prevent him from implementing any more of his "Vision" for this country, you know the one where elections are outlawed and you can go to prison for posesing a lined note book wink

Don't you go slagging off Caroline. She just needs a good hard shag so she can see reality.

Although all politicians will say nice things about their leader, until they know there are some others behind them.

Look at the Labour MP who said that the people were wanting a change of leader and was suggesting a secret ballot. His constituency was then told to keep him in line. It seems they are baning freedom of speech by their own members now.

The Labour Party - founded by Kier Hardy - destroyed by Gordon Brown.

That thought will cheer him up, no doubt.

Which is what I was saying a year ago. Notice also that in all the resignation letters/speeches, they pledge their loyalty to party first, then country, which on it's own should be a treasonable offence.
