The 'effing Tube Strike this week
Discussion
Sorry but the RMT are taking the piss out of us.
They are demanding a 5% rise and less hours? In the current climate? GET REAL! I'm sure all of us would be happy to get a 5% rise for less hours, it would be better than the 5% cut I had to take for the same hours this qtr!
The strike will mean that I either have to find and negotiate various bus journeys or walk through some of the worst estates in Sheppards Bush! It's no work, no pay for me so taking the two days off will cost me hundreds of pounds in lost income.
Greedy s.

Same here, except i got 10% cut, LU workforce really need to visit planet earth once in a while. Time to cull the unions and make them work like normal folk. They are demanding a 5% rise and less hours? In the current climate? GET REAL! Last time this went on their wages and conditions were published in the papers, sounded like a cushy job that plenty of people would want (£35k for 27hrs works or something along those lines) so why not just tell them to take it or go somewhere else and advertise their jobs. Sure there wouldn't be a problem getting replacements or the old ones back on new contract terms. Why do the company manager let their staff hold them to randsom?

Anyone have any real information about which lines are running on Wednesday ?
Thanks
If this goes ahead, all lines will be affected - there will be no underground service full-stop.Thanks
They really do need to get a grip on reality. When the Fire Brigade went on strike they had my support. They do a very dangerous job and don't get the reward warranted IMO.
As said above, Tube drivers are border line unskilled labour! Anyone could do it after a bit of training. Turn the handle one way... Get to a station, turn it the other way! As long as they can see Red or Green lights what else is there to it? Piss takers the lot of them.

I think when Ken was in charge they won every round of strike action because Ken caved in at the last moment.
Hopefully Boris won't support a management cave in and will actually resist demands for yet more salary for doing less.

I'd almost be happy to sacrifice two days earnings if they were sacked as a result of striking.
Well, the RMT hasn't got what it wanted so has walked out of the talks and said that the strike will go ahead.
The revulsion I feel for Bob Crow is quite astonishing given that I don't often feel anything for people I've never met. What a ct.
The whole fg lot of them should be sacked.
