If that is at all accurate then good on TM Lewin. Looks like she didn't really know how to talk to customers and her accent was ste.

TM Lewin - Upmarket? Give me a break.
What she fails to realise it that those elocution lessons would have stood her in good stead for the rest of her career. However, she seems more content on trying to make a quick buck and get her mug in the paper.
In reference to other matters. I would.

TM Lewin used to be a single shop on Jermyn Street. Ties were its speciality, including custom designs and bespoke ties. They also made shirts, but these were very much the secondary line.
Then the name was bought and the current multi-outlet, non-English 4 for £100 shirt shops started to pop up everywhere Starbucks-style.

Agreed that it's grown massively, and that the shirts are no longer UK-made, but I'm not sure it's been sold. The same management team have been there for the last 20 years. Then the name was bought and the current multi-outlet, non-English 4 for £100 shirt shops started to pop up everywhere Starbucks-style.
