You're shocked, she's now my county councillor. At least we got rid of the clown we had previously.

Nightmare. Imagine if they got to power, we'd end up back in the dark ages waging war across the Middle East. Oh wait...

Yeah, but a democracy shouldn't allow people to vote for far right parties....only far left, or centre.

I second that. Voters have shown their preference, it might not be the majority view, but I suspect it is heartfelt by those who put down their cross. Good old democracy.

She is actually a nice woman, and she does do a lot for the people in the area (well she did when she was on the local council), the Labour guy that she has taken the seat from was far worse than useless, he only seemed to know where the area was when he wanted votes, and he certainly didn't like being challanged on anything when cnavassing...., I think i have the dubious honour of actually being on the Labour canvass do not call list after the grilling I gave him one day. He certainly walked straight past the house yesterday when out canvassing!

with regard to the Labour dumpee, I have just had a look at his profile and according to the members interests bit, he has his occuaption down as 'full time councillor' not any more rofl

No! Shocked that so many have voted for them that they got a seat.

I'm quite pleased actually, maybe these kind of things will give the main parties a kick up the arse to a)make policies that are different from each other and b)realise what the people of this country actually want.

BNP have some really good policies actually. They speak a lot of sense at times.

The problem is when they start spouting their rascist rhetoric. That's when all credibility goes out the window.

It's a shame really, as they are probably the Party that best represent my views currently.......apart from all the rascist nonsense!

It's the 'rascist' factor that stops me voting for them. As good as their other views are.....a vote for such a discriminating party would be a step backwards for the country, and not a step forwards.

It was coming all along, people are pissed off with watching their culture being challenged all the time by limp wristed lefties. Probably more of a vote against the Lefties who keep telling us how we should live our lives.

+1

I don't think people are voting for them in a show of support, I think most people that voted for them did so in protest against the big 3

Pretty much all of their policy (that doesn't involve sending Johnny Foreigner Back Where He Came From) sounds really good, earnest and sensible - and is utterly impractical. They might as well add "free ice-cream for all (white) children" to their manifesto.

It's the kind of policy that gets thought up in every pub across the land when a few mates get together to set the world to rights.

And anyway, they can fk off if they think they're sending home the Bangladeshi who runs my local corner shop. Low prices, open 7AM-10PM 7 days a week. Always cheerful. His kids are always polite. He's a credit to the nation, in marked contrast to the convicted criminals who inhabit the upper echelons of the BNP.

Interesting comment on the "good policies". Looking at the 2005 info I cannot find any and as an overall package they are dire.

Personal opinion.

It was only ever a matter of time IMHO given the complete open door immigration policy of the current bunch of fkwitts.

IMO this is not a vote for the BNP but an indication of how completely pissed of people are.
