It's going to be a slaughter. Which is not a huge surprise.

Can't wait to see the Euro elections as well.

This made me laugh this morning, especially when they showed a short snippet of an interview with one of the Lincolnshire County Council Labour cronies.

When asked what he thought of this he said ..

'The reason this is happening is because everyone is thinking about MP's expenses, and they all think it's due to Labour. But other parties have done it too, it wasn't just us!'

Really don't get it do they? That's what they have been hammered! Lovely stuff!

Seconded. I am thoroughly enjoying every moment of this, watching a political party and movement that I have thoroughly despised for as long as I can remember self destructing and being annihilated at the polls is just bloody wonderful, if not long long overdue.

Labour get annihilated in the local election in Bristol and their Labour MP says:

"But from speaking to people on the doorstep, as I have, it's quite clear that people are saying we've got a Prime Minister who's got strength, determination and intelligence and Gordon Brown will lead us out of this recession".

It's just not funny any more. They are utterly deluded.

Presumably this was the front door of the local mental health institute?

Amazing result...if it's possible for Labour to do worse? I'm still a little surprised they had any votes at all, and weren't forced into last place?
I would have thought the stereotypical underachievers who love Labour would have gone BNP or UKIP?

the problem is, they are probably right...

there is a deep set labour electorate that always voted labour because their parents did... and regardless of how much they screwed up the country, they believed they were working class, and therefore voted labour...

things like the iraq war softened their resolve, but ironically it is probably the expenses scandal that has meant they are actually voted elsewhere..

If a labour MP came to my bloody doorstep I can't say I would have been as polite about WMcFN and his crew of utter idiots

Thankfully a labour MP didn't, they just stuck a load of lies on a leaflet for me to laugh at smile

I propose a new phrase is introduced into the English language, to mirror that well-worn adage "Gordon Bennett".

So from now on, it will be "Gordon Brown!" whenever the user wishes to express extreme surprise at an individual or organisation's utter incompetence and subsequent implosion.

Why can they count a constituency in a few hours but it takes a council far longer?

I would have thought that counties are bigger than constituencies, so more bits of paper to shuffle.

No, the 'doorstep' in question was obviously his and the 'people' he refers to his wife.
