Will the Queen dissolve parliament and call an election to avoid the UK having had two consecutive unelected PM's?

Bloody well hope so.

Lots of rumours floating around that 'we are not amused' already and that she's already warned winky it's not a million miles away, but I guess they're just rumour.

I'd rather she called upon her armed forces to do the dissolving the violent way. Revenge for 1642-1651.

HRH can't call on her armed forces, they have no equipment, no ammo and there's only 4 of them left!

May I suggest we utilise the knife welding youth?

Problem is, they're not about to knife the ones providing the handouts.

Utter cock. The Queen has not warned winky of any such thing. The first time any monarch attempted such a thing would be the last time and the end of the monarchy.

Why would a Monarch remain silent on the haphazard governing of her parliament or fear reprisals for having words?

I think you underestimate the power beneath the royal facade of ceremony.

They're not allowed to mate
Surely they would then become extinct?

The queen has the power but would use it only in extremis. Real Extremis.

The monarchy has not been able to express a political opinion openly for years and years

I think you haven't a clue. Our Monarchy is a constitutional one, the monarch no power to interfere and has no executive role in the running of the country.

This is from the Queens own website;

"The British monarchy is known as a constitutional monarchy. This means that, while The Sovereign is Head of State, the ability to make and pass legislation resides with an elected Parliament.

Although the British Sovereign no longer has a political or executive role, he or she continues to play an important part in the life of the nation.

As Head of State, The Monarch undertakes constitutional and representational duties which have developed over one thousand years of history. In addition to these State duties, The Monarch has a less formal role as 'Head of Nation'. The Sovereign acts as a focus for national identity, unity and pride; gives a sense of stability and continuity; officially recognises success and excellence; and supports the ideal of voluntary service."

Then it was a pointless waste of bandwidth. Either way it's cock.

Technically don't the military pledge allegence to the crown? whoever controls the army pretty much controls any country.

She used it in Aus. But then again, that's not a proper country.

Its a power that Gordo apparently 'whittled down' when he came to office. Well, that says a lot about him. wkER. Anyway, I reckon it would restore faith in the system if she did dissolve Parliament and we had an election.
