Just reported on Sky that a balloon has crashed near Stafford, could be nasty if it is one of the tourist trips that go from near Shugborough, as they can hold quite a few occupants.

Has anyone heard anymore about it?

It was reported had hit power lines, but I haven't heard a thing since about 9am.

Like most things that fly they do tend to follow every take off with a landing.....of some sorts....

Seriously though, like most forms of aviation its only when something wrong happens that its in the news, I used to instruct parachuting and the centres alway recorded an increase in enquiries/bookingsphone after there had been an incident reported.

That's true. Take off is optional, landing is mandatory. And any landing you walk away from is a good one (also true in skydiving I'd say!! And I certainly saw a lot of people who more hobbled than walked!)....
