Its crap. They want lots of windymills.
See Lomborgs analysis;
'The massive transfer of wealth that many businesses seek is not necessarily good for the rest of the economy. Spain has been proclaimed a global example in providing financial aid to renewable energy companies to create green jobs. But research shows that each new job cost Spain 571,138 euros, with subsidies of more than one million euros required to create each new job in the uncompetitive wind industry. Moreover, the programs resulted in the destruction of nearly 110,000 jobs elsewhere in the economy, or 2.2 jobs for every job created.'

The Conservative Party really do need re-educating on energy and environmental matters.
Not just them...but all of them!The problem is, as s2art has already suggested, is that Politicians and Green energy companies are in bed with each other to push these sorts of policies through for their own personal gain! It's not about saving the planet at all, no that the planet actually needs saving.
It's all about forcing the tax payer into handing over more money.
The Tories 'Green' policies are really a holdover from when they thought they needed to look cuddly to get elected.
I think the country is looking more now for an old fashioned Tory party that will crack down on the £200bn deficit.
I would expect some reality to enter into this area rather quickly if they win the next election.
