Pitiful turnout.

The labourite "winner" can hardly claim a moral victory - but then, as we know, morals and politics are very uncomfortable bedfellows.

No dear, the result shows that around 6% (by my calcs) of those eligible to vote are misguided enough to espouse your "values"!

What an odd part of the country, not only do they vote for Labour, but more people voted BNP than Conservative.

Plenty of people.

1) The die-hard, philosophically convinced Labour supporters who genuinely Believe.
2) Anyone on benefits
3) Public "servants" in the employ of the state whose employment could be threatened should the status quo alter

etc

Just because I have a politically diametrically opposed view doesn't mean that other ones don't exist. It isn't irrational to vote Labour if they'd look after your interests best. Just as it's rational for me to vote for a party who will look after mine just slightly better than the other lousy nincompoops! wink
