On R4 this morning, Nadine Dorries blaming all the recent "problems" on the PM for not "sorting out" the issue of expenses.

Anyway, they're "not expenses", it is "an allowance".

She's even suggesting that there will be suicides next rolleyes

Oh dear, what a shame, never mind.

FFS, get a grip - you're busted. Live with it & move on (preferably out of government you sack of slimey st).

Ooh, is that the time?

It was a disgusting load of whining excuses, wasn't it? Silly bh accused the presenter of knowing about the fradulent claims all along and it being a big media sting campaign. Unlucky Nadine, you got caught fair and square. If you're not happy with the wages, feel free to fk off to the private sector where you will quickly secure a position as either a french fry cook or cleaner.

With these scum it's always someone else's fault......

That is the fundamental aspect which they don't seem to get. You've been caught, you are scum, accept it, admit it.

In all seriousness though, it was always going to come- it was just a matter of when.

In my opinion it should be a vocation, not a gravy train. Pay 'em £30k plus genuine expenses and see who wants to do it then. Would improve the type of polititian we get greatly, I reckon.

Just seen this on Bill Baileys web page

Bill Bailey said:
Just going through my expenses, £4273.99 for Guinea Pig Anti-Flu BioDome, £723.48 for gold-plated Locust Grooming-Tongs, £7,348,003.19 for second Chameleon Home allowance in the Yemen..

I think you’ll find that’s all in order.

Unfortunately, that's one of the greatest achievements of New Labour, the culture that ensures it's always somebody else's fault.

No one has to take responsability for their actions anymore, they can always blame someone else, oh, and get compensation into the bargain!!

Could I just point out that Nadine Dorries is a tory MP, so her being out of government means that Broon got another term.......

Lots of GOOD men had been hounded (literally) to death by the Csa & did commit suicide.
No politician's stepped in to put a stop to the Csa,s poor treatment of these (mainly) innocent guys who had lost everything & more importantly had done nothing wrong!

They have commited fraud so they should face prison & as they are in a position of ultimate trust I dont want to hear about their previous good character ,there was none.

Indeed, to quote: "Laugh, we nearly shat, we have not laughed so much since Grandma died or Auntie Mabel caught her left tit in the mangle..."

So no successful business man is likely enter parliament as it would be a huge cut in the standard of living of his family. Surely the salary should be raised to interest more people, say £2 million a year to attract people who currently go into the city.

Listening to all these MPs complaining on this morning's radio and last night's QT about how 'depressing' the HoP are at the moment, with everyone wondering who'll be next to have their seat threatened by press exposure (or rather, by being caught out).
Maybe now they'll get just a small indication of how many, many ordinary people in the rapidly shrinking world of industry are feeling at the moment - wondering how long they're likely to keep their jobs all because of miss-handling and greed by the world of finance, and not (as in the case of the MPs) by their own greed. mad
