This one takes some beating.

You need to listen all the way through, I particularly like the bit where we as the taxpayers and electorate are dismissed as having no right to know what he spends our money on.

If he wasn't standing down, I doubt he'll have the whip much longer either.

Smiler.

I nearly spat out my tea when I heard him on the radio earlier. The sooner the old fart is facked off to fatty towers the better.

It's not his fault, the poor fella, the wretched Government caused him to spend all that money on his trees.

Anyway, I don't think it's a real MP - it's obviously Harry Enfield doing the voice.

That is what concerns me the most. It isn't about rules. It's about integrity, honour, common decency and respect.

I especially liked the bit where he blamed the Government for introducing the FOIA. And he claims he should have been "cleverer" about the whole thing.

If this is what it takes to weed people like him out of Parliament, so be it.

What a complete c***. Pay to maintain your own trees FFS. As for jealousy and the public have no right to know, good grief!

I'm always disappointed by the ones who do something derivative and boring with my money, like just buy a large house. I mean, that's just what I'd do with it if they hadn't taken it off me in the first place.

No, if they're going to waste my money, I'd rather it was on entertaining frivolities I'd never have thought of, like running a Hoover round the moat to see what'll happen, or claiming a duck pond as a secondary residence for a laugh.

I'm still holding out on one of the Tories having built a top-secret underground lair, complete with orbital laser weaponry and shiny-shirted henchmen.
