England struggles to organise cricket match.Olympics?

Task: Host a 50 over one day international.

Result: Match Abandoned due to incompetence.

It is bright and sunny, and has been for hours in Leeds. Yorkshire CCC laid a new outfield at vast expense - apparently £650k.

I assume they forgot to make provision for drainage.


How embarassing. I hope Londoners manage a better fist of putting on the Olympics.

Bit like the Durham match in the tests really,

Lords,the Oval, Egbaston would have been a sell out for three days, and probably a damn sight warmer.

But no the ECB have declared that the regions must be visited.

I am glad in way that Wales gets a test match, but surely it should be a lesser team first up. Not the Aussies in the opener of the Ashes !
