Quite why I am watching the BBC's coverage of Chelsea Flower Show but ... apparently, according to the programme's self-professed climatological experts, global warming and increased CO2 emissions will kill off half the world's plant species by the end of the century. Oh dear.

BBC then wheels out a few 'expert' gardeners, and then comes the coup de grace, the tour de force, the coup de theatre - the token precocious kid makes a plea on behalf of the future generation to help save the planet.

After a very cold winter and decreasing global temperatures since 1998.

Actually I think they just said it will be hotter than it was last year, so thats a hellish 25 degrees then.

CCD is a rather more serious problem for a lot of plant species than CO2 emissions.

Indeed. I also noticed that weather reports go with "hotter than average" this month etc.. Surely with all that Co2 we should be reaching new records each year.....
