Cameron: Brown said a General Election would cause chaos. What exactly did he mean?

Brown: A conservative government would cause choas

Cameron: Is this the first admission that the Primeminister is admitting defeat? (or along those lines)

Labour MP: A member of my consituentcy who runs a small manufacturing company has come to me to complain that her bank won't issue any lending. How are these businesses supposed to survive?

Brown: I'd ask your constituent to go back and ask them again...

Wtf, he's lost the plot. and say what? Brown tells me to ask you again, give me the money!!

He's a fking moron. He can't deny a GE just because he thinks a Conservative government would be 'chaos'. Obviously he's going to think that, he's the bloody leader of the opposition. It's not like he's going to say "Yeah, I think the Conservatives will do a brilliant job". Give us a GE you tt.

I really don't see him calling an election ever as in his tiny mind only he can lead us forward and the laws are in place to let him do it

Surely he's shot himself in the foot badly this time? To say that public opinion would cause chaos and therefore he should ignore it. The blinkered arrogance is incredible. That mindset sounds so close to a tinpot dictator it's truly scary. He'll be removing public votes next to prevent chaos.

Agreed. It is quite disturbing that he considers giving the public an election as causing 'chaos' i.e the Conservative might win.

Do you really want to see tomorrow, in the midst of a recession, while the Government is dealing with this, the chaos of an election?
No GE while we're in recession. No getting out of recession with Winky in charge.

[quote]1210 Mr Cameron says the best way to talk about the issues is to hold a general election - he suggests the government is so paralysed it can't even organise a car scrappage scheme.

Are we taking bets on what "national emergency" crops up thus preventing a GE taking place before the "due by" date?... It would NOT suprise me in the slightest!

Given Browns brazen attitude towards the subject of a General Election every PMQ the last few weeks it wouldn't surprise me if, come next May, he just blatantly said "Look, forget it, it's not happening. Democracy is over, this is now a dictatorship and the only way I will relenquish power is if you pry it from my cold, dead, twitching hands"
