Scientists hail stunning fossil
Discussion
Some may find this interesting. A new fossil has turned up of an early primate that belonged to the group from which higher primates and Human's have evolved. Doumentary next tuesday on BBC1 about it too

I love the words journalists use (I really do wish they would vary them a bit).
"Scientists hail stunning fossil" makes me think of someone going:
HELLO FOSSIL!
"Today, the Prime Minister unveiled his new minister for scamming expenses" conjures up the mental image of someone stood on a platform with a white cloth over their head.

I'd like to know why it was kept locked away for 20 years.
If it's genuine, it is a truly remarkable find and could go down as the most important primate fosssil ever found. At 47 million years old, this places it "only" 18 million years after the dinosuars became extinct.
I believe it was in a private collection. Scary when you think about it, who knows what other ancient treasures that are important to history we're unaware of are lokced away in someones private collection. If it's genuine, it is a truly remarkable find and could go down as the most important primate fosssil ever found.
