Oh no, The whole of Europe will grind to a halt without guidance from the Commission!

Threats of an investigation into expenses prompt thousands to burn their filing cabinets?

An MEP thought he had better burn his expenses rather just shredding them like Tony Blair, and look what happened...

Indeed, must be churning out multiple pages of a Press Release on how unpiggylike MEP's have been with their expense claims.

Oh dear, didn't think they would dare catch fire, must have broken several thousand rules.

Ahem, the Commission is entirely separate from the Parliament. The Parliament (actually Parliaments, because there is one in Brussels and one in Strasbourg to keep the French happy) is where the completely useless MEPs occasionally hang out while living on their expansive expenses and rubber stamping legislation from the unelected Commission, which wields the real power.

So, it's the right place that's on fire, but no MEPs or their expenses will be burning.

Ohhhhh. I would not trust them to resubmit and claim a second time. Rules is rules, no evidence I have submitted so I will again.....

Ok ok, electronic I suppose but I have a very big biased tar brush.

I am sure they will just build a bigger, "better" and vastly more expensive replacement. After all, it isn't their money.
